There are better ways to play Neverhood on OS X and Linux. Firstly, Neverhood works in Wine (in Windows 95 mode). Secondly, Neverhood now works in ScummVM as well! (Though in the daily builds only, it didn't appear in the release version yet). Assuming my old Neverhood disc wouldn't work on Windows XP (turns out I was wrong), I went looking for a downloadable version for my Mac laptop (MacBook from 2008) so I could play it again. After about 20 minutes, I found a torrent that you can download and it plays a perfect version of the Neverhood on a Mac.
